The dive center of Magic Island Dive Resort

It’s why we are here! If you haven’t noticed it yet, Magic Island is primarily a Scuba Diving Resort. Of course, everyone is welcome but we mainly cater to divers or people who are interested in becoming divers.
Our dive center is located right on the sea front, facing out towards our fantastic house reef where you can dive any time, day or night. Inside the dive center everyone has their own individual post and crate, giving lots of space to hang or place all of your dive gear. Outside there is lots of room to prepare your equipment, plan your dives or just sit in the sun and soak up some rays. Most of the time the tide is high enough that the boats can pull up all the way to the dive center, so it just one step and you’re aboard.

We have 12ltr/80ft³ aluminium tanks with both DIN and Int. connection, suitable for both air and Nitrox. For those who woud like to dive with a smaller or bigger tank, we have limited 10ltr/60ft³ and 15ltr/100ft³ tanks available. Of course the tanks are filled with a minimum 200bar/3000psi pressure, if not, just return the tank and get a new one! The water temperature ranges from 26C/80F in January to 29C/84F in August.

You can customize your dive package from a x-numbers of dives to unlimited diving for multiple days. Do you not have your own dive equipment? No problem, you can rent everything  you need from us!

Our bangka boats

The boats we use at Magic Island are traditional Filipino boats known as ‘Bangka Boats’. They are long and narrow with bamboo outriggers to stabilize them in the ocean. This makes them very stable and a great platform to dive from. By adding an outboard engine to the back of the Bangka, it gives the Captain much better control, is much quieter and really increases the amount of available space.

We have three Bangkas in total, all with the same design, but they are slightly different in size. Magic Island 1 is the largest and can fit 8 to 10 divers on board plus the crew, then there is Magic Island 2 which can fit 6 to 8 divers and finally Magic Island 3 with space for 4 to 6 divers. Each Bangka has a crew of 2 and at least 1 Divemaster to make sure your journeys to and from the dive sites are as memorable as the dives themselves. We try not to exceed 4 divers on 1 dive master for the best diving experience!

Daily operations

Our dive team is ready to take you out diving everyday! Whether you’d like to go out with the boat or would like to have a guide on the house reef – they are always ready to show you the beautiful underwaterworld of Moalboal!

All our team members are local and certified – the captains are licensed and our dive guides are all PADI certified Dive Masters.

Our daily boat dive schedule is as follow:
8.30 AM – the boat leaves for 2 boat dives with the surface interval on board with coffee/tea/water and fruit snacks.
2:00 PM – the boat leaves for 1 afternoon dive, when everybody has finished their lunch.
6:00 PM – the boat leaves for a night dive (upon request).
