Besides having more than 10 years of teaching-experience, Magic Island is also a PADI 5 Star resort. This means we can teach courses starting with Discover Scuba Diving up to Divemaster. Our swimming pool is suitable for diving courses, but our house reef offers a great possibility to do the confined skills as well. Whether you’re a complete novice or ready for the next level, like an Advanced Course or Divemaster, the instructors at Magic Island are ready for you!
Bubblemaker is as fun as it sounds, a chance for kids to blow bubbles under water. Children who are at least 8 years old can use scuba gear to breathe underwater and swim around in the swimming pool. Once comfortable they can head out in front of our resort where there are lots of fish and it is quite common to see Sea Turtles!
A child must be 8 years old or older. Kids must be comfortable in the water, but no prior experience is necessary.
Bubblemakers get a chance to:
• Experience scuba diving under the direct care and supervision of a PADI Pro.
• Take their first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres
• Learn about and use scuba diving equipment
• Have lots of fun.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? But don’t yet have a PADI certification, Discover Scuba Diving is for you.
First you will have a small classroom orientation, followed by a pool session. Once you feel comfortable we head off to one of our amazing dive sites to see all the wonders of the underwater world. To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision.
You will:
• Go over the Scuba equipment you use to dive
• Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater
• Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive
• Have fun swimming around and exploring.

Haven’t been diving lately and want a quick scuba refresher? The Reactivate program is the perfect way to update your dive skills and knowledge before jumping back into the water. Whether you need a few reminders or just to go over the basics, reactivate is personalized. You can review scuba concepts on your tablet, mobile device or computer, and then go diving with a PADI Professional. It’s quick, easy and a good way to prepare for your next PADI Course or prepare you for the rest of your vacation. Divers who complete both the knowledge and in-water skill refresher receive a replacement certification card with a Reactivated date on it.

Exploration, Excitement and Experiences, that’s what the PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) Diver course is all about. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving skills, so you can start right after your PADI Open Water. The AOW course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of one of our PADI Instructors. PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old are ready to step up and enroll in an Advanced Open Water Diver course.
The course includes
• A total of 5 logged dives, all with different objectives
• Deep dive max 30m/21m for Junior divers
• Navigation dive
• 5 classroom sessions based on each dive objective

The PADI Rescue Diver course is the most challenging, yet most rewarding course available. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, become more confident in your skills and learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of fun in between the focused learning.
PADI Advanced Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old may enroll in a Rescue Diver course. You also need to have CPR and First Aid training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training during the Rescue Diver course or independently.
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond.
What you will learn:
• Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
• Emergency management and equipment
• Rescuing panicked divers
• Rescuing unresponsive divers
• Self rescue
Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in Lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. You learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non-stressful learning environment.
Anyone with an interest can enroll in the EFR course. You must first complete Primary care before moving on to Secondary care.
What’s included?
• Primary Care (CPR) – This course teaches you the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies, while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive.
• Secondary Care (First Aid) – This course teaches you how to provide first aid that eases pain and reduces the risk of further harm. You’ll learn to assess a variety of injuries and illnesses and practice bandaging and splinting.

Take the PADI Divemaster course and do what you love to do as a career. Scuba divers look up to divemasters because they are leaders. As a divemaster, you not only get to dive a lot, but also experience the joy of seeing others have fun diving. The PADI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover, and refine your rescue skills so you can anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management, supervision abilities and become a role model to divers everywhere. As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training.
Rescue Divers who are at least 18 years old may enroll in the PADI Divemaster course. You also need to have:
• CPR and First Aid training within the past 24 months.
• A Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
• At least 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 dives to earn certification.
